COPA MCQ ("we", "our", "the website") is a free online learning platform for ITI Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA) trainees. This policy explains what information is used when you visit the website.
1. Information we collect
- Student account: when you register we store your name, roll number, batch and a scrambled (hashed) 4-digit PIN. This is used only to show your own dashboard and results.
- Test results and practice progress: scores, dates, modules attempted and time taken.
- Live exam status: while you take a CBT mock test, your name, roll number, test name and progress may be shown to the site administrator (your instructor) for monitoring.
- Sign in with Google (optional): if you choose to log in with Google, we receive from Google only your name, e-mail address and profile picture, and store them with your student account. We never see your Google password.
- Visit statistics: the pages you open, the time of the visit, the website you came from, your device type, operating system and browser, and an approximate location (city, state, country) worked out from your internet (IP) address. Your IP address itself is not stored – only a scrambled code. The administrator also sees how many users are on the website right now and which page they are on. To find the approximate location, the IP address is sent to an IP-location service (by default ipwho.is).
- We do not ask for your phone number, e-mail address, Aadhaar, address or payment details, and we do not use your phone's GPS.
2. Where the data is stored
Data is stored in your browser (localStorage) and in the website's own MySQL database on our web hosting (or, if configured, in Google Firebase). Your PIN is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form. Only the site administrator can read results, student lists and visit statistics. Visit records are deleted automatically after about 13 months.
3. Cookies and advertising
- This website may show advertisements served by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
4. How we use the information
Only to run the website: show your results, let instructors track class progress, improve the question bank, and show advertising that keeps the site free. We never sell personal information.
5. Children
The website is meant for ITI trainees. If you are under 18, use the website with the permission of a parent, guardian or instructor.
6. Your choices
You can log out at any time. Clearing your browser data removes the information stored on your device. To delete results stored online, contact the administrator.
